GHOST HUNT PROTOCOLS
NEVER GO ON TO ANY SITE WITHOUT PROPER PERMISSION FROM THE OWNERS.
No alcohol consumption before or during an investigation.
No drug consumption before or during an investigation.
No smoking during an investigation.
Come prepared with a flashlight, camera, recorder, EMF detectors, etc.
Bring extra batteries for all of you electronic equipment.
Research each site before an investigation.
Bring a notebook for notes or a hand held recorder.
Never go alone.
Hold your breath when taking pictures during colder weather.
Do not disrespect any of the investigation sites.
No horseplay.
Be quiet as much as possible – you may miss something.
Do not remove any items from the investigation site or move items from any room on the site.
Announce yourself when walking near a recorder in a normal voice.
Try to recreate noises you hear.
Be skeptical.
Participants do not hold the Mid Ohio Valley Ghost Hunters or any of its staff or members liable for damage to personal property or injury to themselves.
All hunts are at your own risk.
There are no guarantees of paranormal activity on any hunts sponsored by or hosted by the Mid Ohio Valley Ghost Hunters.
Do not wear perfume or cologne during an investigation.
Carry a photo ID with you at all times during an investigation.
Ask the spirits for their cooperation and participation in the investigation. Let them know that you are there to visit and will return if possible, but they are to remain at the site on your departure. Let them know that no one is there to harm them. Thank them when you are leaving. Remember the spirits were living human beings at one time.
No taunting or provoking spirits or trying to agitate the spirits. You will be asked to leave the investigation immediately.
Be as professional as possible.
Ask questions as if you are speaking to another person, do not whisper.
No vandalizing – clean up after yourselves.
Leave all sites as you found them or better.
Speak loud and clearly – do not whisper.
Someone at the investigation must have a first aid kit on hand.
Take base pictures for each investigation site and keep them separate from the investigation pictures.
Announce on recorders which room you are entering and when leaving, etc.
Take base equipment readings – temperature, EMF readings, etc.
Try to duplicate noises or occurrences and unusual equipment readings.

Always check out a site in the daytime first.
